East and West Newton Lakes

April 20, 2019 9:00 am

East and West Newton are fishing great. East Newton Lake has been fishing best.  The trout haven’t gotten their PhD’s in fly patterns yet and can be fooled with ease by the fly patterns listed below. Water temps are warming too, which is increasing trout feeding activity. Still a bit cold for sitting in a float tube all day. Make sure you insulate feet and lower body well if in a float tube or pontoon boat.

Flies:  Buggers and leeches of various colors.  Chironimids (midges),  Ice cream cones, pheasant tails, hares ear, bow-tie midges, Griffiths gnat, FRM red or black, gray sparkle snowshoe duns, parachute Adams and zebra midges.
