Beartooth lakes are plentiful above 8500 feet along Highway 212 to Red Lodge, Montana. Some of the lower lakes like Lily, Ivy and Little Moose and Beartooth Lake are ice free (or almost!) and fishing well. Small leeches and stripped bead head nymphs, like soft hackle Prince and Bloody Mary are working. Warming temps should eliminate ice in the lakes above Top of the World soon, giving anglers more opportunities to fish.
