The Clarks Fork is in good shape now. Wading is still difficult below Crazy Creek and downstream. Water conditions are good above Pilot Creek. Below that, rain has impacted the upper Clarks Fork of the Yellowstone.
Hatches are caddis, gray drakes and pale morning duns, with some larger golden stones and salmonflies still around. Ants and beetles are also on the river now. This is small trout water so downsize to size 10 hoppers, ants and stonefly dries. Small, size 12-20 bead headed nymphs dropped deep under a larger dry is recommended.
