Lakes below 8,000 feet are still accessible. Water temps are quickly dropping. Hunters are replacing anglers in this area of Wyoming/Montana. Beartooth Pass will soon be definitely closed for the winter. The lakes on the Wyoming side are fishing well.
Small leeches and stripped bead head nymphs, like soft hackle Prince and Bloody Mary are working from shore or from a boat. Some dry action can be had after lunch time but it is a narrow window now.
Attractor flies like small Trudes, parachute Adams, royal Wullffs, hi-vis ants and Renegades work along the shore.
