Beartooth Lakes

September 9, 2020 2:00 am

All the lakes on the Wyoming side of the Beartooth Mountains are fishing great. Enjoy! If going to the lakes past Top of the World, the road is in rough shape and traffic delays up to 30 minutes exist just before you get to Beartooth Lake.

Dries will be Griffith’s gnats, elk hair caddis, small parachute Adams, ants, beetles, and royal trudes or Wulff’s. The streams up high are perfect for 1-4 weight fly rods. Tippet size 4-6X.

For lakes – leeches, small buggers, soft hackle or bead-head nymphs should get action sub-surface.

Pack bear spray and mosquito repellent. Both are ferocious!!
