Bighorn / Wind River

Flows have been reduced to winter levels on the Bighorn/Wind River. Water temps are in the high 30’s. Trout action has been good. Weather dictates fishability and success during the winter months. Hatches have been midges that come mid-afternoon. Some dry action. Streamers and nymphs are recommended for best results. Madison, Gibbon, and Firehole YNP

These reported waters are fly fishing only. North Fork Anglers sells Yellowstone National Park fishing licenses for your convenience. Yellowstone Park rivers, lakes and streams are closed to fishing now. The season is Memorial Day weekend to the first Monday in November. Lamar, Slough, Soda Butte, and Pebble

Yellowstone National Park fishing season has closed as of November 8, 2021. The Park’s fishing season begins each year on Memorial Day weekend and goes until the first Monday in November. Fishing reports will be posted on the NE corner of Yellowstone as soon as these waters begin to fish well which could be pre or post runoff. Yellowstone Lake and River below Fishing Bridge

Yellowstone Lake and the Yellowstone River is closed to fishing until Memorial Day weekend 2022. Some closures will be in effect on the lake and the river to protect spawning cutthroat trout until June 20. Yellowstone Park’s fishing season is Memorial Day weekend through the first weekend in November each year.
