The South Fork of the Shoshone is a smaller version of the North Fork of the Shoshone, with more boulders and pocket water and less public access to BLM, State or USFS land.

CFS: 142 Flow readings are in the South Fork Valley section, 30 miles from Cody.

There is some open water. Flows are very low.

Private water laws apply on the South Fork as on the North Fork. Floating is over for another year.
