North Fork Anglers does sell 3 Day, 7 Day and Annual Yellowstone Park fishing licenses for your convenience, as well as Wyoming Game and Fish Resident and non-Resident Daily and Annual Fishing Licenses.
As of this report, Slough Creek and Soda Butte Creeks are in great shape. If it rains, runoff can impact the Lamar River and upper Soda Butte Creek. Caddis, PMD’s, green drakes, black quills are being seen. Dry dropper rigs are recommended on the lower section.
Trout are keying on hoppers in the Lamar Valley and on golden stone imitations on the tributaries. Dry dropper rigs will work well. Size 8 and smaller bead heads – North Fork Specials tan, black, purple, red are highly recommended as the dropper. Stoneflies and larger caddis are active midday through evening while the PMD’s are mid-morning to early afternoon.
The Lamar River is now flowing at 490 cfs (way too low for July!!) as of 7/12/21. We expect flows to continue to drop and fishing conditions to become tougher as the trout see more anglers on the Lamar River and Slough, Pebble and Soda Butte Creeks.
