The river has dropped and cleared substantially above the Crandall Creek confluence since our last report. Water flows are very wadeable above Crazy Creek, which is adding a fair amount of flow to the river.
Flows are still swift in many places, but the fishing is improving. Wading cautiously is still advised below Crazy Creek.
Smaller (#10-16) beadhead nymphs work best. A dry/dropper rig is also good. Hatches are caddis, mosquitos!!, green drakes, PMD’s. Attractors such as royal trudes or Wulffs and Parachute Adams are good searching dry fly patterns.
Bears are out. Pack bear spray!!
