Buggers, scuds and small midges are your best bet for now. Both lakes are fishing okay. Due to angling pressure, the upper lake has smaller cutthroat trout to be caught. The lower reservoir has larger trout – cutthroat, splake and tiger trout.
Calibaetis mayflies, midges, caddis and damsel activity are hatching. Leeches and scuds in the weedy areas are also good bets when fishing either lake. Hoppers, ants and beetles are scoring some trout that are cruising the shorelines where the latter insects tend to land in the lakes. Wet flies, bead head nymphs and small leech patterns working best. Some dry action using Parachute Adams and adult damsel flies.
