Luce and Hogan Lakes

June 20, 2022 9:00 am

Fish are coming to the surface for midges, Callibaetis, ants and beetles. Damsel fly nymphs are also active. Fun days ahead as water temps warm.  Fishing deep under a dry or indicator is very effective when using Chironimid pupae patterns – especially on windier days.

Flies: Beetles, Ants, Foam beetles,Parachute Adams, Callibaetis sparkle or compara duns, Pheasant Tails, Damsel fly nymphs, Hares ears, balanced leeches and wooly buggers.

Should you want an immediate update on flows, water quality, hatches, fly suggestions, we advise you call, not email, North Fork Anglers at 307-527-7274 for that. We also suggest and recommend that you do the same for the 2022 Guided Trip season to reserve dates and guides. We are already getting bookings for late spring and summer trips in 2022. If you have your dates picked out, we urge you to get a deposit made as soon as possible so you don’t miss the chance to float or walk/wade Cody/Bighorn area rivers and streams.

Access to Luce is from the Hogan reservoir parking lot off County Road 7 RP. If the road is dry, access is no problem. If it has been raining or snowing, 4 wheel drive might be required.

Please make sure you fasten the gate to Luce Reservoir to prevent cattle from escaping.
