The Beartooth Lakes are frozen. We expect them to thaw sometime in May or early June 2023. The winter snows are piling high and deep which means we have a  great runoff year ahead when the snows melt and leave the high country. North Fork Shoshone River

CFS: 220 cfs in WAPITI VALLEY –  Conditions: Frozen from the river’s mouth at Buffalo Bill State Park all the way up river. We expect the North Fork to thaw and begin to fish again sometime close to mid-March. Stay tuned – – we will have fishing conditions, recommended flies and other pertinent info as soon as the river thaws and is fishable again in 2023. Fishing has been closed in Yellowstone National Park since the first Monday in November. Upper and Lower Sunshine Reservoirs

Frozen solid. Ice fishing is the only way to fish upper and lower Sunshine reservoirs now. Ice out occurs sometime in late March or early April. We just have to wait unless you like to fish through holes in the ice. These lakes are very popular with the ice fishing crowds once winter arrives. We expect to see open water sometime in May on upper Sunshine and sometime in June on lower Sunshine Reservoir.
