Water temps are falling quickly at Monster Lake, now called West Lake, since Kanye West purchased the property recently! The lake is fishing great although colder temps have changed the fishing methods. We are now fishing midge pupae and midge dries for best results. Leech and streamer patterns also working great now. SOUTH FORK ABATEMENT DIKE FISHING REPORT

Carp are the target fish in this reservoir.  Fish carp candy, baby crayfish and small leech patterns to hang a ‘hawg’ carp. Take a 7 or 8 wt to land the big ones! It won’t be long before this small impoundment iced over. Water quality is so-so now and so is the fishing.

LAKES and RESERVOIRS

Fishermen preferring all types of angling tactics have discovered the treasures found in the high plains lakes of the eastern Rockies. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department has stocked many of these with a variety of trout – browns, rainbows, cutthroat and splake. Due to the mineral content of the mountainous soils, the water in these lakes are rich with aquatic insects and crustaceans which translates into good to trophy sized trout in many of the lakes. For the fly fisherman, this also translates into a rod-bending great time.
