Private Water Trips in Cody, WY

North Fork Anglers has miles of exclusive rights to private water on the Greybull, Wood, and the North Fork of the Shoshone River. All rivers are noted for the size and vigor of the trout that inhabit them.

"The Greybull and Wood Rivers are home to NW Wyoming’s only pure, native Yellowstone Cutthroat trout population. No rainbows or browns in this river, just pure bona fide cutthroat that can often measure well past the 20-inch trophy mark."

The Greybull and the Wood are where we take our guests to complete their Yellowstone Cutthroat portion of the Wyoming Cutt Slam, as well as to provide an angling experience like no other – unless you fish the North Fork of the Shoshone and compare the three!

Private water on the Greybull and Wood Rivers is available to anglers beginning April 1 until runoff begins, then again from the time runoff is over until November 1. North Fork Anglers has more than 2 miles of excellent trout habitat located on the Greybull River and over 3 miles of river on the Wood. Both rivers are located just a few miles West from the town of Meeteetse, WY.

Private water on the North Fork of the Shoshone lies in the heart of Wapiti Valley, where our guides have access to more than 6 miles of the North Fork. This river is well known for the size of its wild rainbows and hybrid cutthroat /rainbow cross, as well as some Great Lake-sized brown trout in late summer and fall.

Private water on the North Fork is utilized before April 1, then again after the float trip season has finished at some time in August. This means you will have the waters to yourself as early as mid-August some years and certainly after Labor Day every year. That is something that can’t be said for the Madison and other popular destination fisheries! No boat traffic and rod rotations on the North Fork, as well as on the Greybull and Wood Rivers, keep the trout fresh, with no hook scarring, which keeps the trout relatively naïve when it comes to going after your fly. That’s a good thing for you and the trophies you will be landing.

Private water is all about experiencing wild trout fly fishing at its best, without the crowds!! Book early to reserve guided trip dates on these fabulous western trout rivers.

Rod fees are $150/Angler and are in addition to North Fork Anglers’ Walk/Wade guided trip fees required by the landowner.
