Trip FAQ’S

  • We have rental rods, reels, waders, and boots. Our waders and boots are certified fungus free!

  • Tips are not included. A 20% and up gratuity is always appreciated.

  • Dress for the current weather forecast and bring extra layers. Even in the summer months, temps on the river can drop quickly with violent storms rolling in. Our weather does not always like to follow typical seasonal weather expectations. Make sure you have a decent rain coat and try to wear synthetic or wool clothing. It is much better when it’s hot and cold outside. It also dries fast.

  • Our cancellation policy is designed to protect our guides who have a limited time each season to make a living. Their schedules are set months in advance and last-minute cancellations are often difficult for rebooking. We take a deposit of half the trip total to secure your reservation.
Our guide trips go out in all safe weather and water conditions; therefore, inclement weather, water levels or undesirable fishing conditions are NOT acceptable reasons to cancel or receive a refund. Trips cancelled by the guide or mutual guide/client decision due to unsafe weather or water conditions, state or federal closures, or other uncontrollable circumstances will have the entire deposit refunded. With all of this in mind, we do suggest that our customers consider trip insurance.
See below for our cancellation windows.

Cancellation of more than 30 days: The deposit is fully refundable.

Cancellation within 30 days: If we can re-book the guide for those days, we will refund your total deposit. If not, you can apply it to a future date or you can forfeit your deposit.

Cancellation within 14 days: You are responsible for the entire guide fees for which you have reserved, unless we can re-book the guide(s).

Cancellation of less than 72 hours: Full price of trip will be charged.

*credit card fees will not be included in any refunds

  • No skill level is required. We will guide beginners, amateurs, hacks, know it all's, experts, posers, self-deprecators, the overly confident, and high maintenance clients. It never hurts to take a lesson before you come out.

  • Yellowstone Cutthroat, Snake River Cutthroat, Bonneville Cutthroat, Rainbow, Cuttbow, Browns, Brookies, Tiger, and the almighty Whitefish.

  • We are strictly catch-and-release. Why would we kill our business partners?

  • You can certainly request the water that you would like to fish. Our guides will take you anywhere that you want to go...even if the fishing is subpar. I would personally leave it up to the guide to decide. They will usually prefer to guide you on the water that’s fishing the best for your skill level.

  • If you're driving and have room, bring it all! If you have finite room for gear, I recommend a decent 5 wt rod and reel, hat, sunglasses, waders, boots, sunscreen, and synthetic clothes and layers appropriate for the time of year. Keep in mind the weather here likes to keep us on our toes. Even better, give us a call and we'll let you know exactly what to bring for the date you are fishing.
